About Us

Maple Street Paper Company started as a dream.  A dream between co-owners and sisters Whitney Korstange and Hilary Smith. The type of dream that is far reaching, the “one day I’m going to do this…” kind. Surprisingly, less than one year later the ladies joined forces and started a handmade paper company.  The two grew up on Maple Street, which is how the company got its name.  Maple Street Paper Company is a growing business blending contemporary paper use and design with a traditional craft.

Whitney Korstange, MFA, artist and papermaker, is the creative drive behind Maple Street Paper Company With a background in printmaking she uses this knowledge developing new papers. “I enjoy the process of transforming fiber into something else, ” says Korstange.  Hilary Smith has worked in supply chain management and is now an accountant. She predominately works on the financial side of the business.

Maple Street Paper Company opened in 2010 after taking over Langdell Paper, a handmade paper mill with a 20-year history. Since the acquisition, Maple Street Paper Company has added several new papers to their repertoire and looks forward to the future.

Most varieties of Langdell Papers are available.  The ones not seen on this site may be available made to order.  Please contact us for more information.
